Low tide at Hopewell Rocks, Bay of Fundy, N.B. These rock formations are also known as the Flower Pot Rocks. They have been carved by the tidal action in the Bay of Fundy where the worlds highest tides occur. Tides run high to low and back to high every 12 hours and 15 minutes. High to low or low to high @ every 6 hours 10 minutes. When the tide is out you can walk on the floor of the ocean for a few hours, as you can see in this photo. Just ensure you are alert because the tides come in quickly and you can be trapped without access to an exit if you are not careful. Maximum tides at this location are 46 feet. This day they were only @ 36 ft.
